Why we started, and how we work.

FIDDLE,GREEN is a Maine technology consultancy built for small organizations. We work alongside startups, small businesses, and nonprofits to solve the technical problems that quietly hold them back.

That focus is deliberate. We built the practice around work at this scale, which is what lets us put senior people on it and keep the attention real. Most of our clients do not have dedicated IT staff — technology gets handled in the margins of somebody's real job, which usually works right up until things break.

FIDDLE,GREEN was founded by Jimi Michel, a technologist who has run IT for community health organizations, built national-scale digital systems on internationally funded public health programs, and teaches graduate-level digital health at Boston University.

How we work

Human-first

Technology magnifies what people are already doing. It is not the point. We put real effort into understanding how your organization actually works before we propose anything.

Something concrete, every time

Every engagement ends with a deliverable, so when it is over you know exactly what you got.

A customized approach

A free first conversation, then whatever the work needs — a proper scoping exercise, or just a scope of work. We do not run every client through the same machine.

Honest about fit

If we are not the right people for the job, we will say so, and we will try to point you toward someone who is.
